When breastfeeding, certain foods that you eat can make your baby gassy and more likely to cry. Here are some foods that you may want to skip when nursing:
- Gassy vegetables like onions, cabbage, garlic, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers and peppers
- Dairy – milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.
- Spicy foods made with spices like cinnamon, curry or hot peppers
- Citrus fruit like oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit
- Strawberries
- Pineapple
- Fruits that have a laxative effect, such as cherries or prunes
Also, don’t have too much caffeine or it may keep your baby from sleeping.
